ABOUT US

The Australian Italian Festival is a regional cultural event held annually on the first weekend of June in Ingham, North Queensland. The festival celebrates the unique local culture with an Australian twist.

While the festival focuses on the melding of Italian and Australian cultures, it acknowledges and includes other nationalities who came to the region to make it their home, as well as the original inhabitants of the area, our First Nations people.

Join us at the Australian Italian Festival for homemade Italian cuisine, Italian wine and beers, endless entertainment and an opportunity to learn more about the Italian culture.

The two-day carnival began in 1995 as a way to celebrate the cultural diversity of the Hinchinbrook Shire with a focus on Italian immigrants. 'The annual event transforms the award-winning TYTO Parklands into a huge piazza with nonstop world-class entertainment on two stages. The festival also encourages visitors to stay and enjoy our region.

Our event features cooking competitions, endless food market stalls, Italian art and history, free amusement rides and games for all ages. Spend time with family and friends as you enjoy our Australian Italian Festival's atmosphere, food, and excitement.

The carnival in the TYTO parklands is held on the first weekend in June, but don't miss the events leading up to our two-day carnival weekend. These events include the Hair, Fashion Show, and others yet to be confirmed. These events are scheduled on the Thursday and Friday leading up to the carnival and are pre-purchased ticketed events.

Enjoy the festival, and see you on the  1st and 2nd June, 2024.
